Susen Mesco, the director of the Professional Santa Claus School in Denver, has trained thousands of Santas to work in malls and at events. She had this to say about Santa encountering some type of drama over the holiday season, “Fight back by dabbing some lavender oil on your wrists – Mesco’s Santas do this to stay relaxed during a long day with children, and research supports that it has calming benefits (DiTrolio, 2016).”

So, as this is the first blog for the Jomac Oils website, an introduction is in order. I am Joan’s husband, Chris, and fill-in for any assistance she needs to keep the business moving forward. I also enjoy writing so I volunteered to do this portion of the site!

First, I have a confession to make. As a card-carrying male of the species, I was more than a little skeptical of the whole idea of essential oils possessing healing properties, but I love her and when she wanted to begin selling these oils I engaged in a little research to see what they were all about. I knew I felt better when, after a bad call or a long day in the office (I’m a firefighter), she would draw up a hot lavender bath for me to soak in. I slept better and felt less fatigued the next day. Apparently, it works equally well for men in navy blue, sooty shirts, a man in a red suit and cap, women, and children. Lavender was my gateway oil to the expansive and proven world of health benefits related to essential oils. If you’re not sure where to start, I’d recommend lavender!

Here’s hoping your holidays were fantastic, memorable (for the right reasons!) and loving! And, that 2017 is a wonderful year for all of you!
